Leaky Gut Symptoms

The following list can help determine if you have leaky gut:

  • You have infections that seem to take longer to heal
  • You have a high susceptibility to catching colds and/or the flu
  • You have wounds or burns that seem to take longer to heal
  • You have taken antibiotics more than three times in the past few years
  • You are or have taken steroid or non steroidal anti inflammatories
  • You wake up feeling tired and feel fatigued throughout the day
  • You have food allergies
  • Chronic stress is part of your life
  • You experience frequent low grade fevers
  • You have diarrhea often
  • You drink more than three glasses of alcohol a day
  • You have had or are having radiation or chemotherapy
  • You eat simple sugars every day
  • You drink more than one sugary soda a day
  • You are experiencing immune impairment of some kind

If you can answer yes to five or more of these symptoms or events, you run the risk of having leaky gut. As a leaky gut prevents the body from utilizing nutrients efficiently, nutrient deficiencies may occur, leading to malnourishment. It is vital to heal the gut and get your health back on track.
