Here’s How to Become Your Own Hypnotherapist

 

1.    Create the Setting

a.       Find a spot that is quiet and peaceful where you can practice undisturbed for 20 to 30 minutes.

2.    Locate Your Destination on the Inner GPS

a.       Write down your goals.

b.      Follow the VAK formula of incorporating visual, auditory and kinesthetic senses.

3.    Induction

a.       Use the magnetic fingers, eye roll or technique of your own, to induce a relaxed state of mind.

b.     Count from 1 to 10 as you become more and more relaxed.

4.    Relax into Your Hypnotic State

a.       Focus on the Three Dragon Basics

                                                               i.     Breath

                                                             ii.     Posture

                                                           iii.     Mindful Focus and Intention

b.      Do the Progressive Muscle Relaxation Technique

c.       Visualize your safe place

5.    Focus Your Subconscious for Achieving Your Goals

a.       Imagine with enthusiasm…remember the mind cannot discern between what is real and imagined so imagine in brilliant images, sounds and experiences. Imagine that you have already achieved your goal.

6.    Re-Alert

a.       This is an important phase of the self-hypnosis session. Bring yourself back to a higher level of consciousness by counting from 10 to 1.

b.      Allow yourself to re-alert gradually. Don’t immediately jump up and start a new task. Take your time and reorient.

7.    Take a moment

a.       Give yourself some thinking time to consider what you’ve just accomplished. Congratulate yourself for a job well done!
