Walking Meditation Workshop
This form of moving meditation can be very peaceful and relaxing especially if performed in a beautiful setting like Roberts Memorial Park. In samu, a form of Zen meditation, the focus is on what you are doing. That can be washing dishes, gazing out the window or walking on a forest path. This is not the time to rehash difficulties from your day or rehearse scenarios for next day, it is a time to simply be in the present. We could also call it mindful awareness as it asks that you pay attention to sensory experiences of the moment. Opening your senses to the world around you can be a powerfully enlightening experience. This workshop begins with the Qi gong practice of the Seven Precious Gestures and moves you to mindful focus through the woods of Cedar and Yellow Point. The format will be as follows: Brief opening on mindful awarenessSeven Precious Gestures<Walking MeditationJournaling Sensory ExperienceGathering Qi from four directions facing IslandsStanding meditation and Intention sending
